Hello, I am Gail Holl, a partner since 1995 in the family business that is Hala Pet Stores in Lancaster.

We are open 9am to 5.00pm Monday to Saturday inclusive but over and above this we have to care for the small animals, mammals and fish on the premises. They are here as they are either available for sale or being boarded by us on behalf of their owners whilst on holiday. Smaller visiting creatures remain in the shop but guinea pigs etc; join us at home as part of our extensive family of other animals!

Our main function though at Hala Pet Stores is the sale of toys, leads, vitamins, foodstuffs, litter, cages; everything in fact that you could want in order to ensure the happiest life possible for your pet.  Also available at Hala Pet Stores is a range of books telling you more about the animal in question and, of course, our own advice based on years of experience and confirmed by the fact that I am a lecturer in Pet Store Management at the local college is at your disposal. Not only does the correct food and general care contribute very substantially to the animal’s welfare and lifestyle but it can reduce the need for expensive visit to the vet!  It is well worth, both financially for you and from the point of view of your animal’s welfare, taking a few minutes to discuss with us any concerns or queries that you may have.

We stock an excellent range of quality foods, biscuits, litter etc; and whilst it is of course more economically viable to purchase in bulk we are happy to shoulder the burden, “go that extra mile!” and arrange local delivery for you.

Hala Pet Stores is crammed with everything you could possibly want for almost any pet and we are happy to arrange boarding for smaller animals when owners go on holiday.  On their return – happy days are here again!  Happiness, of course, goes hand in hand with sadness and heartbreaking as it is, the death of a pet needs to be addressed at some point.  Here too, Hala Pet Stores has a range of services designed to reduce the impact of this sad event, mainly for children, but by no means entirely.

As you will have gathered, we live with animals all day and then go home to more of them at night. Running Hala Pet Stores is truly our vocation and, on behalf of your pets, we look forward to seeing you here soon!
